The best way to keep up to date with York Acorn RLC

Dear Member

Our club is run by volunteers who take time out of there own schedule. However we would welcome anybody who feels they too could make a differnce.

Our club has enjoyed some success this year, our juniors sides are growing and developing rapidly. Our senior sides both competed for promotion to the top flights of their respective leagues.
We would like to build on this momentum by pushing on into next season. It is with this in mind that we are planning now.
The targets for our Cub next season are to:
Increase player base
Increase sponsorship income
Increase training attendance
Run more social events
Build foundation for junior rugby

I would like to thank all those members who have volunteered this year. For those who hadn’t been involved before, we are especially pleased.
However, there are many other jobs that the club would benefit from being done and these can be broken down into manageable, less onerous slices. This would allow us to create an extra layer of willing volunteers, to support certain roles, i.e. recruitment, sponsorship and junior rugby, all vital to our survival.
To achieve this though, we need volunteers (that means you!) to come forward for specific tasks such as:
Liaising with a school or college in your area
Creating a business link between the Club and a friend/colleague
Encouraging your employer to promote the club (this may start with allowing us to post posters on the office notice board)
Help with the coaching of juniors.

There are other specific jobs that would require a limited commitment, but achieve limitless benefits:
Social Media
Marketing
Public Relations

Many of you have the skills in your working life that could easily be brought to the club, for the benefit of our club.
As previously stated, all of these tasks could be carried out by devoting a small amount of time when convenient. This would apply to non-playing members, parents or grandparents and injured players. So if you fall into any of these categories, then please call us. It could literally mean as little as ten minutes per week!
If you are not sure where your skills lie or unsure of where you could fit in, please take time to join us on Sunday 5th November at 1:00pm in the club when we can discuss our plans with you in more detail.
If you can attend please let us know.

Kind Regards
Alan Havercroft
Rugby Secretary
