Welcome to the beginners page for our club. The purpose of this page is to provide you with information you need to decide if you want to play Rugby. Please feel free to contact us to obtain any information which will help you decide to take up Rugby League with York Acorn.

York Acorn Rugby League is always looking for new individuals to join the team.

Never played rugby?

No problem! No prior experience is necessary, and all are welcome regardless of age.
We are sure that once you give rugby a try, you will find that the intensity, excitement, and camaraderie on the pitch rivals no other sport. So come on out, introduce yourself to the coach, and get ready to have a great time!

Rugby for Fitness

Training twice a week will improve your stamina, your strength and your general fitness. The energy and power used in Rugby might surprise you at first and the drills will make your arms and legs feel tired, but in time your body will become accustomed to it and you will feel much better in the long run. Rugby is also good if you are looking to shift a few pounds and makes for a far more interesting (and cheaper!) alternative to the gym.
